If you ask her, Moira will tell you that she's descended from the most famous family in Scottish history. The Stewarts fought at Hadrian's wall, united Scotland under Robert the Bruce and helped produce the illustrious Mary Queen of Scots, long may she reign.
Of course, Moira would be lying. Born to a widowed innkeeper, she never knew her father. She spent her early days listening to stories of the sea, exotic locals and great battles as sailors, soldiers and merchants spent time entertaining the curious child. When her mother died of an illness, the inn went to one of her many creditors and Moira was left on the street. She stowed away on a ship bound for France, where she would be a citizen with a blank slate. She used her passion for "storytelling" and her charm to get a few odd jobs, finally securing one in a ship's galley. When her gender was discovered, she brawled with enough of the guards to prove to the captain that she could stand on her own. She now lives as Moira Stewart, distant heir to the Scottish throne, a bold, brassy addition to the crew.
